A Short Bio

Carlos was born in Corpus Christi, TX in the early 90's. His dad served 20+ years in the U.S. Navy and due to that, he attended school in Ingleside, TX, Norfolk, Virginia and Buffalo, NY. He and his family returned home to Texas in late 2014 and he began school for Massage therapy only a few months later in San Antonio, TX in January of 2015. He finished and became a Licensed Massage Therapist in October of 2015.

His natural skills in massage were found by his mother when she had asked him for a foot rub while pregnant with his youngest sibling. For the following 8 years, until he moved out on his own, he was giving her foot rubs and quietly sneaking away once she had fallen asleep. When it came to graduating high school he had no set plan, but his mother guided him into pursuing Massage Therapy because she knew others would love his gift as well.

Texas State only requires 500 hours of education and to pass a state exam in order to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. 150 of which are internship hours, leaving only 350 hours of lecture. This became concerning after 9 months in the industry, realizing how little he had actually learned with having so much responsibility as a practitioner of massage.

Not knowing he could actually have an impact on people rather than marketing the "spa" aspect of massage, he was referred to a clinic in San Antonio by a fellow Therapist expressing he was better than the franchise they were at currently. Because of that referral, he discovered the world of Therapeutic Massage Therapy and that new path became the introduction of what he has become today.

It is a firm belief that the number of years spent in the massage industry does not reflect the quality of massage. Rather, the invested Continuing Education (CEU's) directly represents the dedication, effort, skill, and worth of the Massage Therapist. Texas State requires a minimum of 12 hours of Continuing Education every 2 years in order to maintain a Massage Therapy License. When averaging out his total hours of CEU's, not including the education invested on his personal time, Carlos has 55 Continuing Education hours each year.
